Black Tie Dinner at HM Tower of London

Black Tie Dinner at HM Tower of London

10 October 2025 7:00pm

On 10th October some 50 guests – in their finest outfits – had a fabulously joyous and lovely evening at HM’s Tower of London.

The guests mingled at the drinks reception in the Fusilier Museum before sitting down for a delicious three-course dinner in the Officers’ Mess at the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment’s Headquarters. The PWRR are Corporate members of our Society and were represented by Brigadier Chris Davies OBE on the night.

Two pipers from the London Scottish Pipes & Drums formally piped the guests into dinner and also played a couple of brilliant sets later on, including a tune with loud audience participation to everyone’s amusement.

There were, of course, some speeches, which included a warm welcome from our Chairman, Wayne Harber, to our new Honorary Member, Flora Montgomery, who was our Guest of Honour that evening. Flora also gave a great speech in which she thanked the Society for the warm welcome and expressed her hopes of continued co-operation and goodwill.

Kate Sanderson, our Honorary Vice President, was in attendance with her husband and we also welcomed a fair few members from our fellow Nordic Societies and the Danish-UK Association, so it was a good mixture of old and new friends.

Georg Jensen, also Corporate members of our Society, generously supplied gifts for everyone in the shape of a beautiful bell from their new Christmas range for 2025. We were very grateful for their generosity, as it’s a nice memento of the evening.
