Anglo-Danish Society Christmas Lunch

A very big thank you to our two hosts Katie Schwarck and Palle B. Pedersen for a very enjoyable and entertaining Christmas lunch held at the L’Escargot restaurant.

30 members of the Ango-Danish Society attended, and the festivities commenced in the Snail Bar on the second floor where we were served a glass of Crémant and entertained by the artiste Elisabeth Valentine who sang a medley of Christmas songs. This was a highly professional and rousing start to the Christmas lunch.

At 1.00pm we then moved down to the library on the first floor where our 3 course Danish inspired Christmas lunch was served. We were all comfortably seated at round tables which contributed to the congenial atmosphere. The guests made good use of the specially imported Tuborg Xmas Beer, Danish Akvavit and of course wine.

After the main course our special guest, Pastor Karsten Møller Hansen, will gave us a moving and sometime poignant Christmas address to round off the meal.

Finally, we held our Christmas Raffle  and raised nearly £300 for the society  funds – a big thank you to all the attendees and to the owner and staff of L’Escargot for an excellent meal and excellent service.
