Anglo-Danish Society Christmas Lunch

The traditional Danish Christmas lunch has become a firm favourite among our members and we’re hoping that this year’s offering will surpass even Dickens’ great expectations!  Our friends at l’Escargot have reserved a private function room in their lovely restaurant for us to celebrate the start of the festive season.

A glass of crémant will be the prelude to the lunch, which will consist of a traditional Danish fish platter – herrings, prawns, salmon, ryebread, etc. – followed by the main course of duck confit with all the Danish trimmings.  The dessert is, of course, rice pudding with cherry sauce. Wine, Danish Christmas beer and snaps will be on sale and coffee/tea/chocolates will be served at the end of the meal.

During the lunch, we will be entertained by  the professional singer, Elizabeth Valentine, with a medley of Christmas songs and carols. We also hope to have a special guest to give us some food for thought. To add a touch of excitement to the whole proceedings, we will be holding a raffle.
